Finding a computer IP

step 1:
Go to the Start menu, go to Run
and type "CMD"
in the dialog box
(without the quotes.)
Now you should see a dark window that
looks just like the picture on the left
of this article step.
Without the quotes, type "IPCONFIG" and press ENTER.
step 3:
Now you should see some network information,
along with the IP ADDRESS of your computer listed.

note:
If performing the IPCONFIG command gives you the following error: "'ipconfig is not recognized as an internal or external command" you may need to approach a slightly different method: - From the C: drive in DOS, type CD\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 - Try the IPCONFIG command from this location again
