Disable Annoying System Restart Notification after Windows Automatic Updates

Microsoft provides free automatic updates to all it’s operating systems to ensure maximum protection against latest security threats and provide few old bug fixes. However, once the security updates get installed, it starts displaying a notification to restart your system in regular intervals. Now this is very annoying if you are doing something important and the restart notification pops up every now and then.
There are two ways to disable system restart notifications after Windows automatic updates. Follow either of the following ways to block such notifications.

Disable Temporarily – Using Run Command
  1. Navigate to Start >> Run >> type net stop wuauserv >> click Enter
  2. This will stop the whole Windows Update process until next system restart
  3. You are done.
Disable Permanently – Using Group Policy
  1. Head to Start >> Run >> type gpedit.msc >> hit Enter
  2. Above step will open group policy editor
  3. Now go to Computer Configuration >> Administrative Templates >> Windows Components >> Windows Update
  4. On the right hand side pane, double click on No auto-restart with logged on users for scheduled automatic updates installations and enable it

  1. Save the settings and exit Microsoft Group policy administration
  2. You are done
